Can you be Most Wonderful at this time of year?

At St Marks Meals we believe that no child in MK should have to go to bed hungry. Ever. That's why we work with over 140 Schools, Nurseries and Family Centres to provide Meals Boxes directly to children who would otherwise go without an evening meal.

We enable dinners to be served up 365 days a year, but Christmas can be an even more difficult time for some families as schools close, support services take a well-needed break and pressure on finances grows.

This year we want to raise £15,000 over the Christmas period - every penny of which will go directly to dishing up delicious dinners all year round.

Below are suggestions and ideas for how to get involved, ways you can donate or raise money and resources for you to use. If there is anything else we can do to help you, please get in touch.

And let us know how you get on, we would love to celebrate you!

Whether you are a school, faith group, community group, office staff, youth group, choir, rugby team or a herd of prancing reindeer...here are some ideas of ways you could have fun and donate to St Marks Meals this Christmas. Every pound you are able to raise or donate makes a huge difference, so thank you!

Donate to earn a day off the normal school / workplace uniform and throw on your favourite festive knitwear instead

If your church is holding a Christmas Carol service, or your school has a Nativity, Christmas Assembly or End-of-Year Bonanza, then asking guests for a donation is a perfect way to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

If you are hosting a Carol Service, school Nativity, Choir Concert, Ice-Skating-a-thon...or, well any event at all really...why not take a collection for St Marks Meals? You can download some helpful resources below to inspire your crowd and join together to do something wonderful this Christmas.

Throw the office handbook out the window and pay to decorate your desk. You could make it a competition, set a theme or just have low-key fun. Extra points for actual mini steam trains.

Lots of options here. Hold a Secret Santa, then guess who gifted your present - get it wrong and donate. OR ditch the Secret Santa entirely and donate the money instead, thus doing something wonderful and also avoiding the awks.

Hold a raffle for your school, office or street. Sell tickets in return for a wonderful prize (like a dozen homemade Gingerbread People) and donate the proceeds to put dinner on the table of an MK child

We will let you into a secret. The boss here is a nightmare, and the thought of a Christmas meal listening to his terrible jokes is ultimate cringe. So, we have decided to skip the meal and donate the price of dinner instead. Why don't you do the same?!

Nobody likes wrapping Christmas presents - apart from that one special person in your office who is a black-belt wrapper. Why not suggest that they wrap everyone's gifts for £2per item? You will then get your presents wrapped, they will feel wonderful and we will have collected money from your donations. It's a win-win-win!

Get all your mates to dress up as (insert fun Christmas character here) and join a fun-run..or just race each other round a field and donate 5 quid each for the privilege. On your marks, get set, GO-Ho-Ho!

Go all Great Festive Bake-Off. Have a gingerbread house competition, or just sell some cupcakes in the staff room. Either way, you're in for a treat. Or two.

Don't want to be Home Alone? Easily fixed...invite all your mates round for hot chocolates and a movie, but charge them a fiver to get into your house. They will think this is odd till you explain the situation, then they'll think you're amazing. (This also works in a school, but invite the pupils to the hall)

True or False... Christmas is a great time to host a quiz for family or friends, with a round on John Lewis Adverts, Identifying Chocolates just from their shape and interesting facts about global festive celebrations?
TRUE! You know what to do...
